Indigenous & Interspiritual Teachings ~ A Workshop
May 4 @ 9:30 am - 4:30 pm
How are timeless and universal spiritual teachings critical to the issues of our day?
What signs are evident today of a unifying global movement?
Drawing from their recent books, Sherri Mitchell (Sacred Instructions) and Bob Atkinson (The Story of Our Time) apply spiritual teachings and principles from their own traditions to explore how identity, transformation, and oneness are central concepts illustrating that, beyond the illusion of separation, humanity is moving toward the realization of the interconnectedness of all things.
Sherri Mitchell, author of Sacred Instructions: Indigenous Wisdom for Living Spirit-Based Change, was born and raised on the Penobscot Indian reservation. She received her Juris Doctorate and a Certificate in Indigenous People’s Law and Policy from the University of Arizona’s James E. Rogers College of Law. She is an alumna of the American Indian Ambassador program, and the Udall Native American Congressional Internship program. She is the Founding Director of the Land Peace Foundation, an organization dedicated to the global protection of indigenous rights and the preservation of the indigenous way of life. Sherri speaks and teaches around the world on issues of indigenous rights, environmental justice, spiritual activism and transformational change. Sherri is also the co-host of Love (and revolution) Radio, a syndicated radio program that highlights stories of heart-based activism and revolutionary spiritual change.
Robert Atkinson, Ph.D. in cross-cultural developmental psychology, is the author of nine books, including the 2017 Nautilus Book Award winner The Story of Our Time: From Duality to Interconnectedness to Oneness, as well as Year of Living Deeply: A Memoir of 1969 (2019), Mystic Journey: Getting to the Heart of Your Soul’s Story (2012), and The Gift of Stories (1995).
