Human beings possess a consciousness designed to confront and overcome difficulties and challenges. Even when tested to our limits, we are built to push beyond those apparent limits and enter unknown realms. Trials and tribulations are therefore purposive; they are a bounty of divine bestowal meant to help facilitate the process of transformation. They become the cause of great advancement.

Opposition creates opportunity, is essential in maintaining the law of balance in the universe, and is necessary for ensuring cyclical progress within a linear process. Opposing forces in our lives exist to take us beyond their duality (which represents separation and temporality) to experience a deeper unity. Our unique capacity of consciousness allows us to merge opposites into a hidden whole (which represents a timeless reality).

When we restore the dualities to their whole, when we consciously merge opposing forces, when we shift our beliefs or views to the oneness that exists beyond separation, when the eternal is seen in the temporary, when the division between body, mind, and spirit is united, transformation occurs. Transformation is a necessary requisite for growth and evolution. All of this is as true on the collective level, for humanity as a whole, as it is on the personal, for the individual.
